EDITOR'S LETTER

UNBOUND magazine is focused on expanding our readers’ mindset and covering the under-reported, overlooked and remote stories that matter. We believe that millennials are a curious generation who crave content that goes beyond the repetitive Trump and Brexit coverage of mainstream news.

With the interconnected cultures and people of today, we find ourselves wondering why some important stories like the fate of rejected Afghan asylum seekers or the youth of Hebron don’t get the media attention they deserve. We took it upon ourselves to gather content from all corners of the globe and fill this void.

Each month Unbound travels to a new country to explore the world view and gain a better insight into as many cultures as possible. Our pioneer issue visited London. Here, we met famous European dance activist Peggy Olislaegers and advised our readers of which areas to visit in our monthly question page.

Although in our first issue we spend most of our time in London, our view remains global. We spoke to young people in Hebron about what it is like growing up in occupied Palestine and to Sami millennials in Northern Finland, Europe’s only indigenous group. With anticipated global fashion events like London Fashion Week, Unbound delved into the ethical issues of fur farming.

As you turn Unbound’s pages you will familiarise yourself with people and cultures that will shape the way you see the world. We at Unbound believe that these global stories need to be told for us to become the generation that we aspire to be – a generation that will fight under-representation and narrowmindedness.
